Virginia S. Benson

Virginia S. Benson, 87, died Thursday, January 25, 2007 at National Health Care of Mauldin. Born in Pickens County, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin T. and Geneva Porter Singleton and wife of the late Charles Gary Benson. Mrs. Benson was a homemaker and a lifelong member of Bethel United Methodist Church. Surviving are two daughters, Linda Rosa and husband Boyd of Greenville, and Jean Bannister of Piedmont; four grandchildren, Chris Rosa Michelle, Gina Hooper Kenneth, Derrick Taylor Shannon, and Jodi Hedden Josh; a great-grandchild, Kalobe Hedden; and a sister, Brenda Childers, of Greenville. She was predeceased by a sister, Kathryn Martin; and a brother, Rudy Singleton. Visitation will be Saturday from 4:00 ? 5:30 pm at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. Services will be Sunday at 1:30 pm at Bethel United Methodist Church. Entombment will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Bethel United Methodist Church, 2106 Old Buncombe Road, Greenville, SC 29609. The family will be at the home of daughter Linda Rosa, 3 Palisades Way.
