Waddy Thomas ?Tee? Roper, 69, husband of Estelle McAbee Roper, died Tuesday, August 7, 2007. Born in Pickens County, he was the son of Ellen Chappell and Dewey Roper. Mr. Roper was a tool and dye maker at United Tool and attended Laurens Road Church of God. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a daughter Cecile Presley; two brothers, Lowell and Jack Roper of Pickens; four sisters, Katherine Hendrix of Liberty, Ruth Simmons of Pickens, Jeanette Fisher of Powdersville, Faye Bayne of Pickens; a grandson Rick Presley; and two great granddaughters Hailey and Emma Presley all of East Hartford, CT. He was preceded in death by two brothers Spencer and Charles Roper. Memorials may be made to Laurens Road Church of God, 1200 Laurens Road, Greenville, SC 29607. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 9, 2007 at 3 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown with visitation prior to the service from 2 to 2:45 p.m. Burial will be at Graceland East Memorial Park. The family will be at the residence.

I worked with Tee at Kusan approx. 30 years ago. I still remember him well. He taught me a lot. Tee was a good man and will be missed. May God bless his family.
