Walter Leonard Bayne

Walter Leonard Bayne, 82, of 1703 Keeler Mill Road, died Tuesday, October 16, 2007 at Oakmont East Nursing Center. Born in Travelers Rest, he was the son of the late Carl William Bayne and Laura Brown Bayne. Mr. Bayne served in the US Army during WWII and was a member of Forestville Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife of sixty-two years, Hazel Poole Bayne, of the home; a daughter, Elaine Smith and husband Coy, of Travelers Rest; three sons, Earl Leonard Bayne and wife Lila of Travelers Rest, Randell David Bayne and wife Shannon of Travelers Rest, and Rickey Walter Bayne; three sisters, Hazel B. Barton of Greenville, Dorothy White of Pontiac, MI, and Katherine Anderson of Greenville; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Jane Hart. The funeral service will be held Thursday at 2:00 pm at Forestville Baptist Church with visitation from 12:30 ? 2:00 pm prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Grand View Memorial Gardens. The family is at the residence. Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest.
