William ?Bill? Blease Cummings, 72, husband of Jean Triplett Cummings, died Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at Hospice of the Upstate. Born in Belton, he was the son of Evie Whitaker Cummings of Anderson and the late Robert Blease Cummings. Mr. Cummings was retired from State Farm and a member of The Lutheran Church of Our Savior. He was a graduate of Catawba College and Anderson College. He was an Anderson College Alumni, received the 2003 Alumni of the Year Service Award and was a United States Naval Reserve veteran. He loved to fish and travel and was unselfish and giving throughout his life. Surviving, in addition to his loving wife of 51 years whom he cherished, are three children, William Michael Cummings of Clinton, Karen Kelly and her husband, Scott, of Simpsonville, Lannie Mascio and her husband, Ron, of Jacksonville, FL.; five grandchildren, Jennifer and Kyle Cummings, Courtney Burnett and her husband, Scott, Sydney and Grayson Taylor; and a sister, Jeanette Kessler of Anderson. Memorials may be made to Lutheran Church of Our Savior, 2600 Wade Hampton Blvd, Greenville, SC 29615 or Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621. Visitation will be held Saturday, October 20, 2007 from 12:30 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. at The Lutheran Church of Our Savior. The Funeral Service will be held in the church at 2:00 p.m. with a private committal to follow. The family will be at the residence.
