William E Simpson

April 17, 1932 - December 11, 2008
William Ellison "Bill" Simpson, Jr., 76, of 30 Westview Avenue, husband of Jeanette Dendy Simpson, died Thursday, December 11, 2008 at St. Francis, Downtown. Born in Darlington, SC he was the son of the late William Ellison Simpson, Sr. and Hazel Tyner Simpson. Mr. Simpson was a retired mail carrier with the United States Postal Service. Following retirement, he was an Addiction Counselor with Add-Life. He was a member of Fulton Presbyterian Church, where he was an Elder and Sunday school teacher. He was also a retired United States Navy veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are three daughters and sons-in-law, Edie and Mike Clark of Greer, Allison "Trecie" and Harrison Clamp, Pam and Rick Torres of Simpsonville; eight grandchildren, Amanda Clark, Hannah Clark, Jennifer Clamp Knoke and her husband Josh, William Clamp, Ashley Torres, Drew Torres, Laurie Clark Cox and James Clark; a great granddaughter, Alizai Cox; and two sisters. Memorials may be made to Fulton Presbyterian Church, 821 Abner Creek Road, Greer, SC 29651. Visitation will be held Saturday, December 13, 2008 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. The funeral service will be held Sunday, December 14, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. in the downtown chapel. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
