William Edward Howard, 86, of 22 N. Florida Avenue, widower of Frances Louise Baker Howard, died Thursday, August 11, 2005 at his residence. Born in Pickens County, he was the son of the late Marshall M. ?Doc? and Elyda Phillips Howard. Mr. Howard was a member of Unity Baptist Church and was a United States Army Air Corps Veteran having served in the Asiatic Pacific Theater during WWII. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Reverend W. Eddie and Clarice Howard of Simpsonville; a brother, T.M. Howard of Travelers Rest; and two grandchildren, Kelli Howard, Jason R. Howard and his wife Michelle; and two great grandsons. Memorials may be made to Hillside Baptist Church Building Fund, 501 Hillside Church Road, Fountain Inn, SC 29644. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, August 13, 2005 at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Visitation will be held prior to the services from 1:30 until 2:30 PM at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
