William Henry Casey, Jr., 74, of 108 Rosebank Way, Greenville succumbed to the will of God after a courageous battle with cancer early Sunday morning, September 28th surrounded by his wife and children. He will be greatly missed by all. Bill, originally from Long Island, NY, was a past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus in Great Neck, NY and remained active with the Knights of Columbus' local chapter at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. He was also past President of The Italian American Club of Greenville, taught Christian Doctrine for 45 years in both New York and South Carolina, was an active tennis player and golfed weekly. In business life, Bill was a Financial Analyst and worked for several major banks in Manhattan. He served in the United States Army as 2nd Lieutenant and graduated from Boston College, Class of 1956. He received his Master's degree from NYU. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Jean; son, Christopher Casey of Charlotte, NC; two daughters and sons-in law , Janine Casey Moore and her husband Jeff of Charlotte, NC and Anne Casey Smith and her husband David of Greenville, SC. He was predeceased by a treasured son, Paul William Casey in 1994. Bill is also survived by six precious grandchildren; Britton Marie, Matthew Paul, David "Casey", Grace Elizabeth, William Henry and another grandson arriving in November. He leaves his only brother Donald Michael Casey and wife Carole of Vero Beach, FL. Also among survivors are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and devoted friends. In lieu of flowers , memorials may be made to Knights of Columbus Council #9184 for Charitable Outreach, 1209 Brushy Creek Road, Taylors, SC 29687. A Vigil service will be held Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at 6 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown, with visitation to follow until 8 p.m. The funeral Mass
will be celebrated Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. The Rite of Committal will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
