William Lowe Brigham, Jr., 86, a resident of Greenville, passed away Saturday, February 17, 2024.
Born in Greenville, he was the son of the late William Lowe and Eleanor Osgood Wallace Brigham. He is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Nancy Hopkins Brigham and siblings, Louise Brigham Erhard and Hugh Osgood Brigham.
Billy graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic School and Greenville High School and attended Clemson University. He worked for over 60 years in the Textile industry where he formed and maintained many friendships that lasted his lifetime.
He is survived by his son, William Lowe Brigham, III and his wife Amber of Roswell, Georgia and his daughter, Eleanor Brigham Wall and her husband George Hampton Wall, Jr. of Georgetown, South Carolina; six grandchildren, James Hopkins Brigham, Benjamin Ayers Brigham (Meg), William Lowe Brigham, IV (Laurel), Brigham Wall Kaiser (Brett), Nancy Anne-Hampton Harden (Kyler), and William Banks Wall (fiancé Catherine); and three great-grandchildren, Anderson, Frank, and Giles. Billy also leaves behind a loving friend and companion, Mrs. Betty Sheftall.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to his caregivers for their kindness, support, and care provided to him during his illness.
Recitation of the Rosary will be held Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. in the chapel of Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Downtown with visitation following until 7:30 p.m.
A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, February 22, 2024 at 11:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church, 3710 Augusta Road. Entombment will follow in the Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
