I'm sorry I just found out about this. I started work with Southern Bell the day before Perry did, and we moved through the years in the company until I retired in Jan 2011. I called and congratulated him on his service day for as far back as I can remember, including this one. I'll miss you Buford Buzard, you dirty ole egg suckin dog.

I am so blessed to have had the opportunity to get to know Perry and Denise while serving them at Red Lobster for the past many years. Perry was just always full of smiles and well wishes. I so enjoyed hearing about their family trips and tailgating at the Clemson games, and viewing pictures of the grandkids. It was very evident how proud Perry was of his family. I recently retired from serving, and Perry n Denise made a special trip to Red Lobster on my last night to bring me a beautiful hand made shawl with my name embroidered on it. I will cherish it forever, as it was my last encounter with Perry. We had planned to see each other in the near future for dinner, but sadly we did not get the chance. I am heartbroken as I know everyone who knew him is. Until we meet again, rest peacefully dear Perry.

Perry was a great friend from school days back at 'ol Williston-Elko High School. I've missed seeing Perry over the years and truly saddened to hear of his passing. God rest his soul and I pray for comfort and peace for all the family going forward. May God be with you all.

Perry was a good friend that always had a smile on his face, even when I wore my NCSU red shirt to church. We would walk proudly down the aisle with the offering plates, he in his Clemson orange and I in Wolfpack red, making the Pastors grin. Not sure how many Skins’ Hot Dog bets we made over football games. Nobody cared, it was just fun! I will miss his smiling face, hand shake and him asking how my family was. Family, friends, and church truly mattered to him.

One of my favorite memories about Perry and Denise was introducing them to each other in high school. As you know, that was the beginning and the rest is history. Perry and Denise raised a beautiful family. I will never forget Perry McKain, also known as “Hurricane”. He was a good friend that always had your back. My friend, you leave many good memories. Prayers for the family.

My deepest condolences. My favorite memory of Perry was from my time in high school with Stephanie. I remember that she and I were not speaking at the time and I was to embarrassed to do anything about it. Well, it was Perry that approached me after a Wade Hampton Football game and reminded me of the value of true friends. The lesson that he taught me that night on the field rang in my head for years and, because of him, I mended an old relationship and I've cultivated many beautiful friendships over the years. Most importantly, he helped me get my friend back. I love you Perry, and though you never knew it, I had always thought of you as a dad. Hats off to you and "Go Tigers."

David Goudelock left a message on June 21, 2023:
I am so gonna miss my longtime Clemson football buddy. We sat in front of Perry for probably 20 years and had some of the best memories watching games together. When we moved over a section I could always count on looking over and getting a wave from Perry and Denise, and chatting with him in the stadium after games. Always got an annual preseason phone call from him too to get hyped up for the season. This man loved his Tigers, but nothing compared to his love for his family, and those grandkids. To Denise and y’all’s family, Tonja and I extend our deepest thoughts and prayers for you. Perry, I’m gonna miss you, my friend. Rest in peace, brother, and Go Tigers!

I met Perry Mckain, the AT&T guy, back in 2007 when I relocated back to Greenville from NC. Perry went the extra mile to make sure my internet service worked correctly in an older home with “issues”. He later introduced me to Denise at her business (embroidery) since he learned of my love for sewing. Perry’s personality and smile will never be forgotten. Gone too soon. My condolences to all the family.
