Willie Ray Hudson, 88, of 2 Cape Charles Drive, widower of Beatrice Lynch Hudson, died Monday, Ocotber 15, 2007 at St. Francis Hospital, Downtown. He was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. Born in Pickens County, he was the son of the late Robert Taylor and Eula Mae Dendy Hudson. Mr. Hudson was an associate of Tires Inc. of Greenville for 50 years and was President and owner from 1960 until 1986. He was a member of the Wade Hampton Masonic Lodge #404, A.F.M., York and Scottish Rite, the HEJAZ Shriners and the Greenville Kiwanis for over 50 years, the S.C. Tire Dealers and Retreaders Association, a State Constable, was a long time Clemson IPTAY member and will be remembered for his generosity and his two dollar bill ?signature calling cards?. He was a charter member of Francis Asbury United Methodist Church. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy H. and Clay Sorensen of Greer; a daughter-in-law, Ida R. Hudson, special friend, Joanne Brothers; three sisters, Ruby White of Marietta, GA., Edna Phillips of Greenville, Margaret Fortner of Pickens; six grandchildren and their spouses, David K. Hudson Carey, Buist H. Lide, Mary Catherine Davis Scott, Cindy Chemell Louie, Amy Amyette Brent, and Ryan Taylor; thirteen great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Ray Hudson and two sisters. Memorials may be made to Francis Asbury United Methodist Church, 1800 E. North Street, Greenville, SC 29607. Vistation will be held Wednesday, October 17, 2007 from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. The Funeral Service will be held Thursday, October 18, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at Francis Asbury United Methodist Church. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will be at the home of his daughter, 318 New Tarleton Way, Greer.

Nancy and Family, I came to know Willie through his friend, Joanne, who is a good friend of mine. I saw him on numerous occasions and he was always smiling and nice to be around. I know you and his many friends in the Greenville area will miss him. Go
